A travel wanderlust whose journey to India at the young age of 13 ignited a deep love for different cultures, nature, architecture, and exploration.

A daughter to two business orientated parents; her mother having a successful vintage shop in Chicago (Kismet), and her father a high-demand tuck pointer due to his amazing craft. Both came from opposite cultures, her mother from Slovenian heritage, and father from Mexican heritage, despite the adversities in the 80’s with a mixed relationship their variances between the two backgrounds flourished.  

During her twenties AlimaLotus traveled back to India (backpacking for 3 months), Mongolia, China, and Amsterdam feeling inspired by the culture, food, people, and art that made each visit special.  Since then she has traveled within the US, Caribbean, and South America to explore other ethos.  Working in corporate setting for the past 16 years in Chicago she realized her love for travel on a personal level allows her to feed her passion for photography.  When not traveling she’s exploring the diverse neighborhoods within Chicago, or the countryside of Indiana where she resides.  Both hold a special place to her heart, from the night life in Chicago to the peace of open terrain of Indiana, both states inspire, the daily travel may seem complicated to most, but to her nourishes her soul within.  Somewhat similar to a mixed upbringing - both states may be very different, but are beautiful!

As a single parent she focuses on raising her son with the same viewpoint - we are all equal despite our different backgrounds, culture is the heart of the community and life as a whole.  There should be no boundaries, our lives are richer with acceptance of one another through an open and welcoming heart.
